About the Grace Oughton Cancer Foundation
In 2006, a group of friends and family members established the Grace Oughton Cancer Foundation to support the family and health care needs of Grace. Over time the directors realized that the Oughtons were not alone in their struggle. Families all over the country suffer financial hardship as a result of insurance denials, travel expenses, lost wages, and more. In addition to the families’ hardships, pediatric cancer research is grossly under-funded. As a result, many treatment protocols are 10, 20, or even 30 years old. Fundraisers have stated that families whose children are fighting, or have fought, cancer, raise the vast majority of research funds earmarked for children.
