This Year's Most-Watched Movie Trailer Might Surprise You
Expect to see infinite headlines about the Sam Taylor-Johnson remake of E. L. James’ bestseller Fifty Shades of Grey until its debut on February 13, 2015. What originally started as Twilight fan fiction (yes, really) eventually sold over 100 million copies worldwide in novel form.
Centered on the BDSM relationship between a featherbrained college grad, Anastasia Steele, and a brooding entrepreneur, Christian Grey, James’ book has been adapted for the big screen. The first trailer for the erotic drama made headlines a week ago. That clip has racked up over 36.4 million YouTube views since then, according to tech firm Zefr (so states The Hollywood Reporter). The website goes on to report that the Fifty Shades trailer had the best opening week for any... Read More
Watch James Gunn's 2008 Movie About a Superhero and a Talking Raccoon
People are calling Guardians of the Galaxy a "weird" movie, but in many ways it's the least weird movie of James Gunn's career. The director and co-writer of the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe installment has always had a strange sense of humor, and the fact that he got his start at Troma Entertainment only nurtured that taste. We'd argue that even his scripts for the two live-action Scooby-Doo movies are at times weirder than anything in GOTG.
If you want to see Gunn's sensibility at its weirdest, though, look to his short films. His first directorial credits include a couple sketches for Troma's Edge TV program in the UK. One called Sgt. Kabukiman Public Service Announcement and is just Troma founder Lloyd Kaufman ranting about NYC's homeless... Read More

Christmas just got a whole lot merrier now that the first teaser trailer for Disney's Into the Woods has arrived online. Watch the teaser trailer below.
This first look at what's sure to be one of the biggest films of the holiday season does a great job teasing the spectacle--from the music to the incredible ensemble cast, it's impossible to watch this and not immediately want more. Directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago, Nine, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides... Read More
See 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Reviewed in Comic Strip Form
Now that Guardians of the Galaxy is touching down in theaters, we've got a long, cold wait ahead without a Marvel movie in sight until May 2015 (Avengers: Age of Ultron). Does Guardians have enough meat to tide us over till then? Hard to say. It's certainly fun, but we're not convinced "fun" is nutritious enough to see us through to the next year. We might have to supplement our cinematic diets with regular movies starring regular folks. Do they even still make those anymore?

Watch a Music Video Featuring All the Best Costumes from This Year's Comic-Con
There's a whole lot to do at San Diego Comic-Con, including panels to watch, toys to buy and celebs to get autographs from, but one of our favorite things to do is costume watch. It's sort of like people watching, except all the people you're watching have elaborate costumes on. It really is impressive to see the amount of work that goes into these costumes, and just how much fun these fans have becoming the characters they're wearing. The different poses they come up with are spectacular.
Each year SneakyZebra does a great job assembling some of the best cosplayers on camera in order to create a music video that gives you just the tiniest taste of what it's like to walk around Comic-Con and rub shoulders with the country's greatest cosplayers. Check it... Read More
Marvel Roundup: 'Guardians' Sequel Details, 'Avengers 3' Buzz and More
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy hasn’t even hit theaters here in America yet, but director James Gunn is already making elaborate plans for the sequel.
The filmmaker recently teased what fans can expect from the next installment in a recent interview with Film Divider. The new story will, at the very least, feature more of Peter Quill’s father, Yondu (pictured below), and Nebula, says Gunn.
“Kevin Feige has stuff. I wrote up a lot. He knows all the stuff and if I died tomorrow they could go make a movie. They could write the story of Peter Quill’s father and it would all be there. I think Yondu is a very important character, a really important character in this universe, and I think Nebula is really important too and so I think we’ll see... Read More

Discussion: What Was the Last Trailer to Change Your Mind About a Movie?
Do movie trailers really have an effect on whether or not we see a movie? I’m not talking about the trailers that confirm for us that an anticipated movie will be worth seeing. And I’m not talking about a trailer that simply alerts the mainstream, non-movie-site-following public to the existence of a movie they immediately deem worth seeing. I mean a trailer that can truly make or break a movie by changing minds for the better or worse on a particular title.
The answer is yes. We see it time and time again, and every positive is an exciting surprise. Recall last year when Fast & Furious 6 revealed its most insane action sequence during a Super Bowl spot. It not only changed many minds about that sequel but about the entire Fast and Furious franchise... Read More
The Most Badass Talking Animals In Movies
With Guardians of the Galaxy about to arrive in theaters, Marvel and James Gunn are about to introduce one of the strangest major characters to ever appear in a movie to an unsuspecting populace. Yes, we're talking about Rocket Raccoon, the genetically modified creature voiced by Bradley Cooper. However, Rocket is not alone! In fact, he joins an established pantheon of talking animal characters. However, he belongs to a more specific subsection: he's one of cinema's few truly badass talking animals.
And that brings us to today's subject: the 10 most badass talking animals in the movies. The rules for this list were simple enough. First, the animal had to interact with human characters (so they're actually "talking" and not just speaking their own... Read More
