An Awesome Real-Life 'Back to the Future Part II' Hoverboard Has Been Created to Help Save Lives
We may not have flying cars or power-lacing shoes, but the hoverboard in Back to the Future Part II is now one step closer to reality. Break open the piggy bank, though, because this awesome piece of the future is gonna cost you.
Inventor Greg Henderson and his company Arx Pax have revealed The Hendo – the world’s first fully functional hoverboard – although the visionary creator imagines more noble uses for his new technology than just allowing skaters to get their grind on. Henderson sees the new technology helping to save buildings in earthquakes and floods by raising them above danger, and assisting in making train and air travel safer and more cost effective.
How does it work, you ask? It's all about magnets. Using... Read More

Touted for awards consideration, the movie opens in theaters on November 14. [USA Today]

New on DVD/Blu-ray: 'Snowpiercer,' 'Sex Tape,' 'The Purge: Anarchy' and More
Snowpiercer - Radius TWC/Anchor Bay - Blu-ray and DVD
Director: Bong Joon-ho
Cast: Chris Evans, Song Kang-ho, Jamie Bell, John Hurt,Tilda Swinton. Full cast + crew
2014 has been a banner year for science fiction, and yet there's one movie that still stands apart from the crowd: Bong Joon-ho's Snowpiercer, about a revolt on a train full of the last people on Earth that continually circles the globe lest it freeze to death and the human race dies. It's precisely the kind of weird, subversive, high-concept sci-fi that's so hard to find these days, because it takes a somewhat wacky premise and commits to it without over explaining itself or waiting for the audience to catch up.
Chris Evans is just fantastic, turning his Captain America... Read More
The First 'Key & Peele' Movie Is Perfect for Cat Lovers
Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, better known as Key & Peele via their sketch comedy show of the same name (and who you might recognize from MADtv), are making a movie. And it’s called Keanu—but unfortunately they’re not referring to the actor we all know and love from hits such as Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Johnny Mnemonic and Speed. They’re referring to a cat that has been kidnapped.
“Keanu tells the story of friends who pose as drug dealers to infiltrate the criminal underworld, all to retrieve a stolen kitty. Peele wrote the script with Alex Rubens, a writer on the show as well as on Community,” reports Deadline. The project was originally intended to be an independent film, but New Line worked some magic to snag... Read More

There’s lots of sequel news to share today – including updates on Terminator: Genisys and Guardians of the Galaxy – so let’s just get right into it.
Filmmaker James Cameron is hard at work on his multitude of Avatar sequels, but it’s a well-known fact that he did some minor consulting on the upcoming Terminator: Genisys. Cameron won’t receive credit for his efforts on the latest entry in the sci-fi franchise, but he has revealed a bit of advice he handed out regarding how to fit a much older Arnold Schwarzenegger back into the franchise.
“I wasn’t interested in producing it or working on it actively, but I did want to put in a good word for Arnold. I pointed out that the outer covering (of the Terminator) was actually not... Read More

Wes Craven Just Revealed These Great Fun Facts About 'A Nightmare on Elm Street'
When we discovered Wes Craven was tweeting some fantastic fun facts about A Nightmare on Elm Street last week, we hit the favorite button until our fingers bled. You can follow along under the hashtag #30YearsofNightmares. We’ve shared a few highlights from his discussion, below.
Released in 1984, A Nightmare on Elm Street was a massive success during its initial run.
