Things Get Dirty In This 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For' Red Band Comic-Con Trailer
The long wait is almost over, and we’re less than a month away from the August 22 release of Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. To celebrate, we’ve got the brand new red band trailer from Comic-Con for your viewing pleasure.
The new clip is a lengthy three-and-a-half-minutes of ultra stylish visuals accentuated with a pulse-pounding soundtrack. The trailer shows off the expansive cast -- from tough guy Marv to newcomer Joseph Gordon Levitt -- while literally oozing style with each frame. Miller and Rodriguez have gone to great lengths to create a film that apes the style of a comic, just like they did in the original Sin City, and it really looks like a graphic novel has come to life.
With multiple story arcs (including two... Read More
Watch: Guillermo del Toro Tells Robert Rodriguez How to Design a Movie Monster
Guillermo del Toro is a hard person to not like. We're not even talking about his movies here (though most people do love them), but strictly his personality and credentials as a grade A, bona fide film geek who truly, deeply loves the things he does. That kind of passion is infectious, and it's hard to not end up on his team when he starts talking about how and why he brings to life all the creepy, crawly, impossible things in movies like The Devil's Backbone and Pan's Labyrinth.
Speaking of infectious del Toro passion, writer-director Robert Rodriguez launched his own television empire called El Rey Network earlier this year, and one of the cool things he's doing is running in-depth interviews with fellow filmmakers in an ongoing, hour-long series called The... Read More
The Best Movie Trailers of the Week
Welcome back to Best Movie Trailers of the Week, a column where we handpick the best new movie trailers that have arrived online over the past week.
That quick teaser for Dan Gilroy’s Nightcrawler caught our eye and now the film’s first official trailer locked it in. We need to know more about Lou Bloom (Jake Gyllenhaal). The two pieces work exceptionally well together. The first introduces you to the idea that Lou’s a guy in desperate need of a job and the second builds upon that by showing you how he winds up making that happen. Getting the opportunity to watch a guy navigate the world of L.A. crime journalism is inherently fascinating, but rather than lean on that appeal, these pieces put the focus on what could make Nightcrawler a true... Watch Some Great Test Footage for the 'Deadpool' Movie That Never Happened
Fox has been teasing comic fans with the prospect of a Deadpool movie for years now with no actual start date in sight – but this leaked footage featuring Ryan Reynolds voicing the Merc with the Mouth proves there may still be hope for this project after all.
If you recall, last summer comic creator Rob Liefeld mentioned that director Tim Miller had teamed up with Ryan Reynolds to create some test footage for a potential Deadpool film. Somehow, it now appears that the footage has found its way to the Internet – and if you love Deadpool (who, admittedly, is a bit of an acquired taste), you’re going to want to watch this clip before it disappears forever.
In it, we see Deadpool doing what he does best – taking out bad guys while cracking jokes along the... Read More
Movie News: 'Justice League' Gets a Writer; Watch a Trailer for 'The Death of Superman Lives'
Justice League: Reportedly, Warner Bros. wants Chris Terrio, who won an Oscar for Argo and recently completed script work on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, to write the screenplay for Justice League. Terrio was brought on to Batman v Superman after David S. Goyer (Batman, Man of Steel) became "too busy" with other projects to do another rewrite, and now Warner Bros. wantsTerrio to get its next important superhero team-up off to a good start. [Deadline]
Money Monster: TriStar Pictures is "nearing a deal" to pick up Jodie Foster's Money Monster, starring George Clooney. The studio would finance the picture -- a $30 million deal in itself -- and also distribute it. Jodie Foster is directing; Clooney is set to star as a TV personality who... Read More
Watch: 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1' Teaser Trailer Is Here
Following its buzzed-about Comic-Con debut, the first official teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 has now arrived online, and it most definitely teases some pretty dark days ahead for not only Katniss, but for all of Panem, too.
Watch it below.
The footage is both fierce and emotional, setting up big action spectacle (like a sequence where hundreds of Capitol police chase Panem citizens through the woods), and a dire situation where a beaten-up Katniss returns home to a ruined District 12 only to be confronted by her own people. "Are you here to fight with us?" one small boy asks Katniss. "I am. I will," she somewhat reluctantly replies.
It'll be fun to see how Katniss evolves in this film to become more of a leader... Read More
'Mad Max: Fury Road' Trailer: See What Blew Everyone Away at Comic-Con
The first trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road has arrived online and man is it cool. This is a smaller version of what was shown over the weekend at Comic-Con, and for many (including me), it was the most impressive footage -- not just because it's rad as hell, but also in the way it so faithfully and passionately recaptures the wicked look, tone and feel of the original Mad Max franchise, or more specifically its second installment, The Road Warrior, which first hit theaters all the way back in 1981.
Mad Max: Fury Road hits theaters on May 15, 2015, and this trailer really does all the talking. It's relentless, brutal and ridiculously badass, and the worst part of the whole thing is how long we'll have to wait to devour it.
Check out the four impressive... Read More

Here are some of the other cool announcements and fan-friendly moments you might have missed from day three of Comic-Con:
