See 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Reviewed in Comic Strip Form
Now that Guardians of the Galaxy is touching down in theaters, we've got a long, cold wait ahead without a Marvel movie in sight until May 2015 (Avengers: Age of Ultron). Does Guardians have enough meat to tide us over till then? Hard to say. It's certainly fun, but we're not convinced "fun" is nutritious enough to see us through to the next year. We might have to supplement our cinematic diets with regular movies starring regular folks. Do they even still make those anymore?   Click image to enlarge     MORE FROM AROUND THE WEB: ZergNet (function() { var zergnet = document.createElement('script'); zergnet.type = 'text/javascript'; zergnet.async = true; zergnet.src...

Watch a Music Video Featuring All the Best Costumes from This Year's Comic-Con
There's a whole lot to do at San Diego Comic-Con, including panels to watch, toys to buy and celebs to get autographs from, but one of our favorite things to do is costume watch. It's sort of like people watching, except all the people you're watching have elaborate costumes on. It really is impressive to see the amount of work that goes into these costumes, and just how much fun these fans have becoming the characters they're wearing. The different poses they come up with are spectacular. Each year SneakyZebra does a great job assembling some of the best cosplayers on camera in order to create a music video that gives you just the tiniest taste of what it's like to walk around Comic-Con and rub shoulders with the country's greatest cosplayers. Check it...

Marvel Roundup: 'Guardians' Sequel Details, 'Avengers 3' Buzz and More
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy hasn’t even hit theaters here in America yet, but director James Gunn is already making elaborate plans for the sequel. The filmmaker recently teased what fans can expect from the next installment in a recent interview with Film Divider. The new story will, at the very least, feature more of Peter Quill’s father, Yondu (pictured below), and Nebula, says Gunn. “Kevin Feige has stuff. I wrote up a lot. He knows all the stuff and if I died tomorrow they could go make a movie. They could write the story of Peter Quill’s father and it would all be there. I think Yondu is a very important character, a really important character in this universe, and I think Nebula is really important too and so I think we’ll see...

Discussion: What Was the Last Trailer to Change Your Mind About a Movie?
Do movie trailers really have an effect on whether or not we see a movie? I’m not talking about the trailers that confirm for us that an anticipated movie will be worth seeing. And I’m not talking about a trailer that simply alerts the mainstream, non-movie-site-following public to the existence of a movie they immediately deem worth seeing. I mean a trailer that can truly make or break a movie by changing minds for the better or worse on a particular title. The answer is yes. We see it time and time again, and every positive is an exciting surprise. Recall last year when Fast & Furious 6 revealed its most insane action sequence during a Super Bowl spot. It not only changed many minds about that sequel but about the entire Fast and Furious franchise...

The Most Badass Talking Animals In Movies
With Guardians of the Galaxy about to arrive in theaters, Marvel and James Gunn are about to introduce one of the strangest major characters to ever appear in a movie to an unsuspecting populace. Yes, we're talking about Rocket Raccoon, the genetically modified creature voiced by Bradley Cooper. However, Rocket is not alone! In fact, he joins an established pantheon of talking animal characters. However, he belongs to a more specific subsection: he's one of cinema's few truly badass talking animals. And that brings us to today's subject: the 10 most badass talking animals in the movies. The rules for this list were simple enough. First, the animal had to interact with human characters (so they're actually "talking" and not just speaking their own...

Comics on Film: Don't Like Gal Gadot As Wonder Woman? Get Over It!
This year's San Diego Comic-Con has come and gone. All of the reporters that were on the floor could likely use a vacation, studios laid bare several major announcements related to new and returning TV and film, and comic book fans were treated to a lot of news about the medium they love.  DC Comics fans in particular got quite a bit out of the convention this year, not only from upcoming DC-related TV shows, but there was also a great bit of excitement surrounding a little movie called Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Fans in Hall H were treated to just under a minute of really cool footage promising a square-off between the World's Finest heroes, but we also got our first-ever look at Gal Gadot in costume as the third leg of DC's...

'Dark Side of the Moon' Pokes Fun at Kubrick Conspiracy Theorists
Last week, we celebrated both the 45-year anniversary of the Apollo moon landing, and what would have been the 86th birthday of filmmaker Stanley Kubrick. While those things might seem completely unrelated to most of us, conspiracy theorists have seen a link for years, claiming we never actually landed on the moon and that the government hired Kubrick to film the fake moon landing here on Earth. While French filmmaker William Karel is not a moon-landing denier, he’s not above having a little fun with the idea of Kubrick being the visual genius who duped the entire world into believing that we actually walked on the surface of that floating white orb in the sky. Karel’s Dark Side of the Moon is a 2002 parody that posits that Kubrick did indeed film the fake moon...

Watch: Meet the Man Who Writes All Your Favorite Movie Novelizations
It’s controversial opinion time. If you want ham and cheese, there’s Anthony Hopkins’ Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs. If you want a quietly menacing (and believable) depiction of a cannibalistic serial killer, there’s Brian Cox’s Hannibal Lecter in Manhunter. With his sonorous voice, gleaming wit and Scottish brogue, the versatile actor has has made his mark in a number of films, from popcorn flicks (X2: X-Men United) to Oscar winners (Braveheart). In this Funny or Die skit, Cox plays esteemed author William St. Bromms, who teaches a master class on how to write the perfect novelization of a film. He recites excerpts from some of his greatest novelizations to inspire his students, which also leaves us in hysterics. “Indiana Jones...
