Marvel Studios Countdown: Jessica Jones Jumps from 'Alias' to Netflix
Out of all of Marvel’s upcoming projects, the one with the least amount of “legacy” behind it is the Netflix series Jessica Jones. In fact, Marvel’s never even published a comic called Jessica Jones; the comic was called Alias, but that title was already claimed for TV by another popular action show. Casting rumors for the lead role on Jessica Jones have just started to ramp up, as Marvel builds towards its Defenders miniseries.
Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad, Don’t Trust the B--- in Apartment 23), Alexandra Daddario (Percy Jackson, True Detective), Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies), Jessica De Gouw (Arrow) and Marin Ireland (Homeland) are in the running, according to Deadline’s sources. All the candidates seem like reasonable choices -- working... Read More

Film Face-off: 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' vs. 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1'
Happy Hunger Games. Actually, with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 things aren't so happy. Now that we think about it, a lot of characters in this world haven't ever really been happy about those games.
When we last left Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) there were many crucial elements hanging in the balance. She didn't even know if Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) was alive. Here's a nonspoiler alert, but technically still a spoiler alert: they didn't kill Peeta off. Shocking, we know.
When we compared The Hunger Games vs. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the sequel had a decisive 4-1 victory. Let's find out if the sequel's sequel, which is also half of the finale, can beat the second of a trilogy, which turned into a quadrilogy... Read More
Exclusive: 'Saw' Writer Leigh Whannell Talks the Future of the Franchise
It's been 10 years since Leigh Whannell wrote and costarred in Saw. Since then there have been six sequels, and though the last movie in 2010 was titled Saw 3D: The Final Chapter, there's been plenty of talk about how soon it would be before Lionsgate resurrected the beloved (and incredibly profitable) franchise in some capacity.
Some of it has been fueled by rumors, some of it by cheeky prodding by Whannell and James Wan themselves (they hid Billy the Puppet in their first Insidious installment). So when we spoke to Whannell last week about his terrific new movie The Mule, which he cowrote, executive produced and acts in, we wanted to ask about the likelihood that Saw is coming back and if he'd even want to be involved with a new version of... 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Casts Rising Star As the Villain
If you look close enough, you can literally see Oscar Isaac's star rising by the second. The Inside Llewyn Davis and A Most Violent Year actor is not only set to play a major role in the upcoming Star Wars sequel The Force Awakens, but he's now lined up another major gig as villain in the next X-Men movie, titled X-Men: Apocalypse, due out on May 27, 2016.
Inspired by the popular Age of Apocalypse comic storyline, Isaac will play Apocalypse, or En Sabah Nur, whose roots date all the way back to Ancient Egypt, hence that postcredits introduction in X-Men: Days of Future Past. This guy is pretty powerful, is said to be one of the first-ever mutants (if not the first), and may even be invincible... which should cause problems for our returning mutants, who he'll no... Movie Pics: Hugh Jackman's Pirate in 'Pan' and a Whole Lot of 'Goosebumps' Monsters Revealed
Hugh Jackman is trading in his adamantium claws for sword in these first photos from Joe Wright’s upcoming film Pan.
Entertainment Weekly scored the exclusive new pictures, which show Jackman looking menacing as pirate Blackbeard (and not Captain Hook…) as he squares off against Levi Miller, who’s playing the young Peter Pan.
The new film is a riff on the classic Peter Pan story, wherein it’s Blackbeard who serves as the pirate antagonist. Captain Hook (played by Garret Hedlund), meanwhile, has morphed into a “dashing Indiana Jones-type figure.” Why would you do this?
Pan, which also features performances from Amanda Seyfried and Rooney Mara, will fly into theaters across the country on July 17 of next year. Until then, enjoy these photos... Read More

Right now is a hot time for Star Wars news. The first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is about to drop, and to add more fuel to the ridiculous amount of anticipation building inside our Jedi-lovin' hearts, a new report today claims to reveal the plot for the first Star Wars spin-off movie, due to hit theaters in 2016, to be directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla).
According to Slashfilm, the spin-off will be a sort-of prequel to A New Hope in that it will follow the rebels' attempt to steal the Death Star plans from the Empire. Remember, the rebels already have the plans in their possession at the beginning of A New Hope, so this movie will show us how they got them... and apparently it will be from an unlikely group of individuals.

First Look: Arnold Schwarzenegger Is an Older Terminator, Plus: Quentin Tarantino's 'Hateful Eight' Cast
Here's an early behind-the-scenes look at a couple of big 2015 movies you may be familiar with. Both images debuted on Twitter, and both reveal enough to whet our movie-nerd appetites for more.
Here's what appears to be either a makeup test or early poster design for next summer's Terminator: Genisys, revealing an aged Arnold Schwarzenegger as an equally as aged T-800. This image was reportedly discovered by a German group touring the Paramount Studios backlot, and it gives us a rough-around-the-edges idea of what Arnold will look like when he reprises the role he first donned all the way back in 1984. And... yup, that's pretty much how we remember him.
Expect to see more from this one before the year is out. Terminator: Genisys officially hits theaters on July... Read More
