Fredericksburg (WBQB/WFVA/AP) -- Virginians are heading to the polls to elect a new governor. Also on Tuesday's ballot are races for lieutenant governor, attorney general and the House of Delegates. Polls close at 7 tonight. In Spotsylvania there are contested races in the Battlefield and Lee Hill Districts for the Board of Supervisors. There are supervisor races in Stafford. There will be at least one new member in Stafford. Board Chairman George Schwartz is not seeking re-election. There's also a parks and rec bond question in Stafford. Republican Bob McDonnell and Democrat Creigh Deeds are competing to succeed Gov. Kaine, who is ineligible for re-election under the Virginia Constitution. Democrat Jody Wagner is challenging Republican Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling, who is seeking a second term. Two Fairfax County legislators, Republican Ken Cuccinelli and Democrat Steve Shannon, are running for attorney general. Sixty-nine of Virginia's 100 House seats are contested. In the Fredericksburg area, the only conteted race is in Stafford where a green party candidate is going against House Speaker Bill Howell.
