Richmond (WBQB/WFVA/AP) -- A state-run Web site to help streamline the process of starting a business has reached a milestone. Gov. Kaine says Virginia's Business One Stop portal has been used by more than 15,000 entrepreneurs to aid their business operations and create jobs. The online business formation portal helps streamline the process to start a business in Virginia by finding and filling out the necessary forms. The governor's office says the site has led to the formation of more than 8,500 new businesses. The project meant to speed transactions and helps eliminate duplication of data began in May 2008. The system, for instance, collects user information and provides and pre-fills forms required by 80 percent of new businesses.
