Washington DC (WBQB/WFVA/AP) -- George Mason and Georgetown universities are partnering to create a new biomedicine program in Virginia. The universities have signed a letter of intent to open the joint biomedical program at George Mason's Prince William County campus next year. The program, called ``George Squared,'' will offer a one-year certificate program and a master's program. Officials say the program will meet the needs of the region's growing bioscience and health care sectors. Classes will focus on anatomy, biochemistry and molecular biology, among other subjects. Faculty from both schools will teach courses. Officials say they chose the northern Virginia campus because of its lab space designated for the life sciences industry. Applicants will apply to the program through George Mason.
