Fredericksburg (WBQB/WFVA) -- Operation Christmas Child--the project where you fill a shoe box with school supplies, toys, candy and a letter--hopes go collect 11-thousand boxes in the Fredericksburg area. Coordinator Debbie Morgan says young and old can participate. She says everyone from small children to senior citizens have filled boxes. Morgan says all kinds of barriers come down---from language to cultural to geographical to political. Shoe boxes are filled with school supplies, toys, necessity items, candy and a letter. The boxes are then hand-delivered to children around the world. Morgan says, "Our small effort right now can impact a child's life forever."
