Fredericksburg (WBQB/WFVA) -- First District Congressman Rob Wittman says he joins with troops on the ground in Afghanistan in anxiously awaiting President Obama's decision on troop levels in the country. Wittman has spent time in Afghanistan. He says American forces already there agree with the U-S commander that 40-thousand more troops are needed. Wittman says there aren't currently enough troops to secure areas. He says once fighting ends and the troops leave, the Taliban return. Wittman says he wants the president to make the right decision but he says it must also be a timely decision. Wittman says he's concerned about the delays in making a decision. Wittman says troop morale is being affected by the long wait. Wittman says the longer President Obama waits, the more other countries will question the commitment of America to the finishing the job.
