Fredericksburg (WBQB/WFVA) -- Health professionals say your best bet against catching H1N1 is getting a shot, when they become available. In the meantime, Dr. Lia Shorter with Women's Health and Surgery Center in Stafford says keep your hands clean. Dr. Shorter says wash at least 45 seconds. She says wash under your fingernails and between your fingers and use a clean towel. Rappahannock Area Health District Epidemiologist Lan Nguyen says we touch our face an average of 47 times every two hours. She says each of those times are chances to be infected. Nguyen says wash your hands before and after group activates, before meals...even after using office equipment like a fax machine.
