(Newport News)- The Wason Center for Civic Leadership at Christopher Newport University has released its annual State of the Commonwealth survey. Looking forward at the 2025 Democratic gubernatorial primary, 43% of the Democratic participants had a favorable opinion of 7th District Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger. Richmond Mayor Lavar Stoney had a 10% favorable opinion. 82% said they had no opinion or did not know.
