(Arlington)- The Arlington County Board has approved a measure that will allow the Arlington National Cemetery to expand. The board approved plans for the cemetery to add 70 acres to its southern border which will allow for 60-thousand new burial plots and ensures that service members can be laid to rest at the cemetery through the 2050’s. The expansion will mean the partial removal of a blue granite boundary wall from 1897 and converting space around the Air Force Memorial to pedestrian and burial space.
