Friends of Wilderness Battlefield (FoWB) is pleased to announce its 3rd annual Untold Stories experience in Old Town Fredericksburg on Friday, March 20. Co-sponsored by the John J Wright Educational and Cultural Center, Fredericksburg United Methodist and St. George’s Episcopal Churches, Spotsylvania Civil War Civilian and the National Park Service, the event will celebrate Women’s History Month and the Centennial of Women’s Right to Vote. Travel back in time, from 1864 to 1967, to witness three stories of women’s struggles to attain love, liberty and equality.
The tours (approximately one hour in length) will originate at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, 308 Hanover Street (check in at Kobler Hall – enter off Charlotte Street), continue to St. George’s Episcopal Church, and end with the third vignette at Fredericksburg’s Historic Courthouse. A reception with light refreshments will follow the last vignette at the Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM). Museum exhibits will be open for viewing by Untold Stories guests, and volunteers from the host organizations will be on hand to greet and visit with the guests. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
