This workshop will teach students everything that they need to know about MLA style for college writing. Over two interactive sessions, students will learn to format and cite their work in MLA style. The first session will focus on how to correctly format a research paper or essay in MLA format, as well as how to cite primary and secondary sources used for the paper. Additionally, since most high school and college students are required to give oral presentations, the second session will focus on how to cite sources in a presentation format. Citing written work correctly is imperative! Failure to cite work correctly can lead to a high school or college student receiving a “0” mark for an assignment, or possibly worse, an honor infraction. This workshop will equip students to identify what information needs to be cited, to avoid plagiarism, and to execute that formatting and citing correctly and confidently.
