Arlington County Police Chief Retiring

(Arlington)- After 30 years with the Arlington County Police Department, the chief has decided to retire.  Murray “Jay” Farr has spent the last five years as the leader of the department.  He said in a statement, “It has been an honor and privilege to serve the residents, businesses, and visitors of Arlington County.”  Farr has had many roles with the department over the years and even spent time as the chair of the Police Chief Committee of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments.  The department will begin a nationwide search for his replacement beginning this fall with input from the public.  Chief Farr’s last day on the job will be September 4th.
