BSA’s Aquia District serves families in Bowling Green, Dahlgren, City of Fredericksburg, Marine Corps Base Quantico, and Stafford, Caroline, King Georges and Spotsylvania Counties.
We have a District-wide Join Scouting Night (JSN) on August 18, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Parents can go to any Stafford County Elementary School for a sign-up session to join Cub Scouts. We’ve been in touch with all the school Principals and we’re getting flyers printed up that our Scout Packs will hand out at the orientations, We’re also sending/posting a flyer on Peachjar, (the email flyer distribution system for the local schools). We’ve posted events on our district Facebook page, and the the National Capital Area Council (NCAC) will geofence them. We intend to get flyers out to preschools, starting in August.
For those ready to begin their family’s Scouting adventures – to join BSA, they can go to www.beascout.org to find a BSA Scout unit near you – Cub Scouting serves families with children in Kindergarten through 5th Grade; Scouts BSA serves families with children ages 11-18. There are also BSA programs for families with older Youths, ages 14 – 20, including becoming Venturers, Explorers or Sea Scouts.
The mission of the BSA is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Aquia District is part of the National Capital Area Council (NCAC) of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Aquia District includes Stafford County, Virginia, and Marine Corps Base Quantico.
