It is that time of year again. For the past three years all of us here at Catfish Kelly’s have been giving back to our community during the holidays. Each year we have pledged to assist a minimum of two families in need. As we started this, we did this in private, at the request of friends, family and employees we decided to include our community and customer base. We were quickly shocked, surprised, and humbled by the outpouring of support from our Catfish Kelly’s family. Over just the past two years we have been able to assist 16 families. Consisting of over 40 children and over 20 adults. This was far and away above anything we ever expected.
WHY WE DO THIS?
As some know by now Kelly and Chris have firsthand knowledge of how hard the holidays can be on some families who have run into unexpected circumstances. The innocence of childhood can sometimes have you not understanding the reality of life. As they have gotten a little older they have come to understand the sacrifices that were made when they were children.
As usual Kelly and Chris will lead this off by pledging $1000 towards this year’s drive. Along with guaranteeing at least two families will be assisted.
HOW DO YOU NOMINATE A FAMILY?
As always, we are turning to the community to nominate a family or person that they believe needs assistance. There are no specific restrictions to the nominations. To give you an idea we have assisted the elderly, single parent families, along with many other families that just fell into hard times. It is about their situation not about age, size of family, race, religion, or anything else. You can click on the link at the bottom of the post to fill out a short nomination form. Please be as detailed as possible about the situation. Another way if you cannot access the form for any reason is to stop by either store Catfish Kelly’s Fredericksburg at 661 Kings Hwy or Catfish Kelly’s King George at 12450 James Madison Pkwy and they will provide you with a form.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
• Monetary Donations made through our donation trees located at either store.
• Purchase a raffle ticket for the items that will be posted in the near future.
•Donation box at both locations for toys and non-perishable food items.
