The Fredericksburg Walking Club is celebrating spring with a walk event along the Dahlgren Heritage Trail on Sunday, May 1. The trail runs through 240 acres of preserved land and the historic railroad ties have been removed. The natural surface is even and good for walking, hiking, biking, and running. The first four miles are particularly well used, maintained, and are suitable for children and strollers. Start times are between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM, with a finish time of 4:00 PM. There is a group walk at 10:00 AM! The address is 10431 Bloomsbury Road, in King George, VA. The cost is free, or $3 for those wanting AVA/VV credit. Refreshments will be provided and donations are welcome. We hope to see you there! Walkers generally need a permit to walk this trail, but it is not required for this particular event.
