On October 12, 2021 the Brooke Point High School Volleyball Team will be hosting our ninth annual “Dig For the Cure” game against Colonial Forge High School. For the past 8 years this event has raised money that has supported breast cancer awareness organizations and charities. This year, the girls decided to donate all proceeds to a local high school teacher who is fighting an aggressive form of breast cancer.

Marci Spellman is this year’s recipient. Marci is a Brooke Point High School science teacher and has taught at Brooke Point for 20 years. Her breast cancer journey began this June and in August she had to make the difficult decision to step away from teaching to focus all of her energy in fighting and beating breast cancer.

In addition to captivating volleyball matches where Brooke Point and Colonial Forge will square off, there will be baskets and goodies to raffle off, concessions, and a 50/50 raffle. The baskets and donations have been provided by many local companies such as Weis, Bath and Body Works, Giant Food, Sam’s Subs and Pizza, Vinny’s, Potomac Winery, Lowes, and more!

All proceeds from this night’s fundraiser volleyball game will go to Marci and her family.
