Downtown Green’s annual Downhome Ball is a great chance to dance to throw on some jeans, a sundress, a funny hat–whatever you want–and see some local artists, get some great food, have some beer and wine, all while supporting a great local non-profit. The Downhome Ball is fun for the whole family–all are welcome! The cost is FREE for kids, $15 dollars for students, $30 dollars in advance, and $35 dollars at the door, and FREE for volunteers who volunteer 2 hours. and all proceeds go to supporting Downtown Greens’ agricultural, nutrition, entrepreneurial, arts, and environmental youth programs at both their Charles/Dixon Street location and through partnerships with Fredericksburg City Schools. They also go to maintaining two community gardens opened every day from sunrise to sunset. Whether or not you can make it to the dance, come check us out!
