The FredSPCA Junior Volunteer Program is a mixture of humane education and volunteering in action! Kids that are enrolled in the Junior Volunteer Program will meet on Saturday from 10 am – 12 pm for 3-weeks. Meetings will be a mix of virtual and in-person at the Fredericksburg SPCA where your child will get one-on-one interaction with animals!
Junior Volunteers will spend an hour discussing and learning about important topics in animal welfare including the importance of spaying and neutering your pets, debunking harmful animal stereotypes, environmentalism, animal care & safety, and much more!
Junior Volunteers will also have the opportunity to meet animals, and participate in fun service projects from writing adoption bios and creating animal welfare PSAs, to hands-on projects like making homemade enrichment toys for shelter animals!
If your child has a desire to help the animals in their community while learning how they can help animals all over the world, then this is a perfect opportunity.
This program offers volunteer hours your child may need for school or extracurricular activities.
