Experience the 90th anniversary of Historic Garden Week in Virginia! April 18, 2023, will showcase historic King George County.
Gates to the past open to visitors on this driving tour of one of the most scenic and storied counties in coastal plain Virginia. Meticulously-restored 18th century dwellings and their landscapes combine with graciously-designed modern properties to provide a varied and memorable experience. Ancient out- buildings and boxwood parterres, sweeping terraced gardens, picturesque equestrian amenities, and old churchyards enhance the breathtaking beauty of this Rappahannock Valley tour.
Cedell Brooks, Jr. Park will serve as tour headquarters and country gardens featuring tours of a native plant demonstration garden, a “pop-up” tulip picking garden with more than 10,000 tulips, floral demonstrations, plant sales, Gateway Beekeepers, and more. Food Trucks on-site from 11 am-3pm include: Denson’s Chesapeake Bay Farm to Table Food Truck & Catering, and Juan More Taco.
Pre-ordered box lunches available through St. John’s Church.
While touring properties in Berry Plains, see demonstrations from Bartlett Tree Experts ISA certified arborist, and receive a free seedling to take home.
