Practice poses like the “downward dog” with Old Dominion Humane Society’s (ODHS) youngest rescues during Puppy Yoga from 6-7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 11. All ages are invited to the beginner class that combines an introduction to yoga with some puppy cuddle time. The event takes place at ODHS’s Fredericksburg facility, and doors open at 6 p.m. for 30 minutes of mingling with the puppies followed by an hour of yoga.
The price is $20 per person and a discount of $35 for a pair (bring a significant other, best friend or child). No preregistration is needed.
“Yoga with the puppies has become so popular that we’ve had to schedule the event several times a year,” said Chrissy Blake, ODHS founder. “Guests have the opportunity to visit with the rescue puppies that are available for adoption and get some exercise. The proceeds go a long way in helping with veterinary costs, food and the many expenses that go into ensuring all of our rescue dogs are kept safe and happy.”
ODHS is located at 3602 Lafayette Boulevard in Fredericksburg. Adoption events are Wednesdays from 5-7 p.m., Fridays from 6-8 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Applications in advance are preferred and take priority over walk-ins.
