Stage Door Productions Brings Oscar Wilde’s Comedy,
The Importance of Being Earnest, to the Virtual Stage
Stage Door Productions is bringing Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy The Importance of Being
Earnest to the stage in a virtual performance.
The Importance of Being Earnest, was once called by critic W.H. Auden, “the only pure verbal
opera in English.” It tells the story of two young gentlemen living in London who create
elaborate deceptions and use a pseudonym to escape the troubles of their everyday lives.
Unfortunately, both end up using same name—Ernest Worthing—and chaos ensues.
The Importance of Being Earnest will be available for a private virtual stream on YouTube
starting Friday, June 5 at 7pm. Patrons can purchase tickets on the Stage Door website at
stagedoorproductions.org. All ticket sales must be accompanied by an email. Patrons will
receive a confirmation notice within 24 hours of purchase and another email on the day of
release with a personalized link to Stage Door’s private premiere.
If you make a purchase and do not have a valid email or do not receive a confirmation email,
please reach out to info@stagedoorproductions.org for further support.
