On Saturday, December 14, Friends of Wilderness Battlefield will host our 11th annual event: “A 19th Century Christmas at Ellwood Manor.” The doors will open at 9:00 A.M. and children of all ages may visit with Santa and enjoy making period arts and crafts until 12:00 P.M. Parents will want to be sure to bring their cameras! After Santa departs at NOON, the house will remain open until 2:00 P.M., for guests who would like to enjoy the beautiful period decorations provided by the Fawn Lake Garden Club.
Because of the beautiful decorations and hard work provided by the Fawn Lake Garden Club and FoWB volunteers, Ellwood will also be open from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM the following week (December 15 – 20) from 12:00 – 3:00 for visitors to enjoy. Friends of Wilderness Battlefield volunteers will be available to talk with visitors about the history of the house and volunteer opportunities with the organization throughout the day.
In the case of a major inclement weather event, please check our website and/or Facebook page for possible cancelations.
As always, this event at Ellwood is free and open to the public. Donations are always welcome and appreciated.
