Goal: Help restore critical bird and pollinator habitat, manage the sea of invasive plants, and work with Civil War history buffs at a historic Civil War Battlefield in Orange County VA. We will train and supervise volunteers on safe and effective methods for controlling invasive shrubs, and vines such as lespedeza, multiflora rose, autumn olive and Japanese honeysuckle. Eventually, we will seed the riparian areas and edges with native wildflowers and trees

What to bring: We are working outside: please dress for the weather and be prepared to hike around in tall grass and woods. Wear long pants, long-sleeve shirts and closed toe shoes, preferably rugged gear that can stand up to working in the weeds.
